Join us for our next FLHRPS meeting.  Leading HR through Turbulent Times by Jack McKenna, CHRO of Rotech Healthcare.

Speaker: Our speaker will be Jack McKenna who is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Rotech Healthcare Inc., a national healthcare company that is headquartered in Orlando. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Jack started his career as a CPA for Deloitte and subsequently obtained a Masters degree in Employee Relations at Georgia State University. In addition to Rotech, he has been the senior HR executive at both The Haskell Company (Jacksonville, FL) and Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Atlanta). Jack has also worked in HR in Orlando with AAA and Disney.

Overview: Current financial turmoil is causing Strategic HR leaders to assess their business models and question the longer-term economic viability of their core businesses. They are re-evaluating strategies, organizational designs, and the alignment of behaviors and cultures to meet the emerging market needs. Significant changes in business models are then driving the need for organizations to alter how human capital is deployed and managed.

There has been continual motion in the market: shifts in the mix of customers, segments, competitors and intermediaries; ever changing health care regulations, increasing scarcity of resources, and erosion of familiar sources of profitability. Today, the business needs are greater, and more dramatic change is required.

In short, HR executives are being called to co-create with business leaders, new business models and to lead the organizational and cultural changes required to support those models. This presents an opportunity for HR to step up and increase its value dramatically through multiple business phases which may include Financial Re-organization; Focus on Liquidity and Decrease in Human Capital; and Reinvestment & Growth.

Jack will share his experiences and game plan with respect to Leading HR through Turbulent Times.
